STAG-FRIENDLY LIVERPOOL PUBS WITH LIVE SPORTS
No stag weekend is complete without a proper session of pints and live football. And lucky for you, Liverpool bleeds football. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just there for the atmosphere, you’ll find plenty of pubs ready to welcome you. Let’s dive in and make sure you don’t miss a single goal:
EINSTEIN BIER HAUS
Right in the middle of Concert Square. The location’s on point, and you’re smack bang in one of the liveliest parts of the city. The only downside? The beer of the month is CARLING – Duke Wilhelm V of Bavaria would be turning in his grave, mate. How can any German Bier Haus in their right mind recommend a beer that tastes piss? They’ve got better options, just don’t go asking them for any advice on what ones to drink.
BIERKELLER LIVERPOOL
You’ve probably heard of Bierkeller – it’s basically the McDonald’s of beer halls, with them dotted all over the country. It’s in Liverpool One – a relatively new area of town and not too far away from central station. The website boasts an atmosphere as good as any stadium… just not when Everton are playing.
THE LONG SHOT
Tucked away in the Royal Albert Dock, a day tourist area of town – full of beatlemania and chinese photography enthusiasts. It’s probably the best looking part of the city to be fair but it’s not traditionally somewhere you would go to the match (very upmarket). That said, they’re trying to buck the trend, maybe that’s why it’s called – The Long Shot. Honestly, it’s a long shot in more ways than one, but hey, if you fancy a more sophisticated experience when watching football, then this is the place.
McCOOLEYS – MATTHEW STREET
“Liverpool’s Best Irish Bar,” according to… well, themselves. McCooleys has two venues: Matthew Street and Concert Square. Both are perfect if you’re after a buzzing atmosphere. Live sports, good beers, and by night, DJs turn the place into a party. Stick around after the game and party well into the night.
PUNCH TARMEYS
Another Irish pub, this one’s in Cains Brewery Village in the Baltic Triangle area. A short taxi ride from the centre, or you can stretch your legs and walk. Inside, it’s got that old-school pub charm but with a modern twist, and live music every weekend. Not tons of other bars around for stags though, so you’ll likely head back to the centre after the match.
O’NEILL’S
Another one of the Irish brigade—O’Neill’s sits near Central Station, meaning you’re dead central for everything. This area is full of lively old man boozers. You know the ones where the karaoke machine comes out at about 10am. Good location, solid little bar.
BOX PARK
New kid on the block – BoxPark has finally made it out of London and landed in Cains Brewery Village. It’s a massive 21,000 square feet of sports screens, street food stalls, and fan park vibes. If you want big crowds of casual fans, this is your place for watching the game.
PINS SOCIAL CLUB
Not your typical live sports pub, PINS is a combo of a bowling alley, shuffleboard bar, and roof terrace—oh, and they also screen Premier League games. Want a booth with table service for the game? You lazy b*stard! You’ll need to book ahead on their website for that. It’s only a short walk from Central Station, and not far from Concert Square, so it’s a solid location.
LEGENDS SPORTS BAR
Right on Matthew Street, this isn’t the biggest sports bar in town, but it’s in one of the busiest areas of the city. Football, UFC, cricket (nope!), rugby—it’s all here. Once the game’s over, you can stumble straight into another bar nearby.
YANKEES LIVERPOOL
An American-themed sports bar in a sea of Irish pubs—this one’s got NFL, MLB (whatever that is), and “big gulps” – a 2 pint beer bigger than Neil Ruddock’s massive head . It’s right near Concert Square, so perfect for jumping into the madness after.
CONCLUSION
There you have it, lads! No more excuses to miss the match—Liverpool’s best stag-friendly pubs and bars are ready for you. Catch all the live sports (and maybe figure out what MLB is while you’re at it). Who knows, I might even bump into you there!
